The women of the Delgado-Pritchett clan have car trouble on their way to a women's movement, but get help from a mechanically-inclined woman, who seems too good to be true. At the rally, Luke and Manny find themselves competing for the affection of a feminist classmate. Meanwhile, Jay and Phil can't agree on their parking-lot attendant's duties. And Cam is shocked when Pam prefers Mitch's help raising her baby.

Frank Dunphy's wedding has a Roaring 1920's theme, so Phil gets his clan to show up in costume, but Claire and the kids realize it's time for an intervention with Phil when they're the only ones who dressed up. Meanwhile, Jay comes to regret mastering the art of saying "no". And Cam finally gets the courage to stand up to his sister Pam, who's in town for an audition.

In the Season 8 premiere, the Pritchett clan gather for Father's Day after the three families return from separate adventures: Claire, Phil and the kids in New York; Mitch, Cam and Lily in the Midwest; and Jay, Gloria and the boys in Mexico.

Everyone in Chatswin does up Mother's Day which leaves Tessa feeling left out. Dalia ditches Dallas to go to Israel. When Eden and George go to the Lerners' baby shower, Eden isn't pleased with the party theme. Sheila's pleasantly surprised by Fred's gift while Lisa makes an amazing find.

In part one of the two part season finale: After a series of set backs in their cupcake business and personal lives, Max and Caroline decide to crash a Manhattan ball, so Sophie takes them out to buy dresses. Meanwhile, Oleg buys a town car in an attempt to get closer to Sophie, and Max get's Chestnut back.

Part two of the Season finale: When Caroline and Max can't get into the Ball because of her Channing name, they struggle to find a way to sneak in so they can get Martha Stewart to taste their cupcakes. Meanwhile, Max tries to prove to Johnny that she not just the girl in the waitress uniform.

After Bob branches into the food truck business, the Belchers take their burgers to a food festival where the mischievous kids manage to anger the other food trucks and turn the festival into a free-for-all.
