David Baddiel




David Baddiel was born in 1964 in Troy, New York. His father was a research chemist with Unilever and his mother's family had come to Britain during the Second World War, fleeing Nazi persecution.

David grew up in London and attended Haberdashers' Aske's Boys School, and read English at King's College in Cambridge. He was a member of the Cambridge Footlights, and left with a Double First. He followed this with a (never completed) PhD in English from University College in London.

He went on to work first with The Mary Whitehouse Experience on the radio and television, and had two successful partnerships: first with Rob Newman and then with Frank Skinner.

He has two children, Dolly (b. 2001) and Ezra (b. 2004) with his partner, comedienne Morwenna Banks.
