David Cameron won the GQ 'Politician of the Year' award at the 'Men of the Year Awards' in both 2006 and 2007.

In June 2007, Conservative MP Quentin Davies caused shock by defecting from the Conservatives to Labour and blaming Cameron's leadership as the reason why. In a letter released to the press, Davies criticised Cameron's direction of the party and said he would not want to see Cameron run the country.
