At first, I was a bit skeptical of Lyons, because of the jerk of a character he played on ER. As the series went along however, I realized just how fantastic at acting he really is. He pulls you in and makes you want to feel so much for his character. He's able to make you angry in a second, cry in an instant, and smile for a moment. So many actors are only capable of doing so much these days and they don't do much for the shows they're on. But, Lyons is brilliant in the way he touches people with his lines. Kudos to him for reaching out to the crowd and making his role memorable.
  • I hadn't really noticed him in Sea Patrol, but his stint in ER has made me sit up and take notice.

I love him as Simon Brenner on ER. He started off as kind of an ass and additional to that, a stumbling block between the reunion of the much loved Neela & Ray. However he's come into his own and has become integral to the last season, finally winning resistant fans over. This is partly due to Simon's wonderful potrayal. Brenner is such a complex character but David has truly done a great job with him as the character has evolved in such a small amount of time. His scenes in Age of Innocence were heartbreakingly beautiful.

I'll definitely be keeping my eye on him in future projects. He's one to watch.
