David Suchet is the consummate Hercule Poirot. He plays his so well that you cannot imagine anyone else doing a better job. I've seen Peter Ustinov and Albert Finney do the part before, but neither comes up to Suchet's standard.
But not only does Suchet play Poirot well, he surprises you (pleasantly) when he turns up in a very different role in "A Perfect Murder", starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Douglas. At first you can't believe it's the same actor, because he plays the part too to perfection. Suchet will probaly go to his grave know as Poirot. But what a legacy he has left behind. Hopefully, Suchet will get his will and star in the entire Poirot canon, before he retires in 2011.
