I have many reasons for liking Derek Jeter.
- He plays for the Yankees and I've been a Yankee fan since I was a kid.
- He's a great hitter. He has six seasons (including 2007) where he's hit more than 200 hits. He has the most hits in the postseason (out of all MLB players).
- He's a team player. He doesn't care about his personal stats if they don't help the team win. A homerun or going 4-4 doesn't mean much to him if the team lost.
- He established the Turn 2 Foundation and Jeter's Leaders to help kids. I admire that.
- He's very respectful, addressing most of his elders as "Mr." such as his manager, Mr. (Joe)Torre. He's always patient with the media, even when they don't deserve it.
- He's supportive of his teammates and family.
- He's an author. I love books.
Okay, I suppose I could go on, but I think I've said more than enough...
