    He is my idal and has been my favorite since I was 3.  I just love how he plays the game.

    I just do. He's the best. I support two teams, the Yankees, and whoever beats the red sox!

    he's the captain of the yankees (my favorite sports team) and he's one of the best current athletes

    I have many reasons for liking Derek Jeter.

    1. He plays for the Yankees and I've been a Yankee fan since I was a kid.
    2. He's a great hitter. He has six seasons (including 2007) where he's hit more than 200 hits. He has the most hits in the postseason (out of all MLB players).
    3. He's a team player. He doesn't care about his personal stats if they don't help the team win. A homerun or going 4-4 doesn't mean much to him if the team lost.
    4. He established the Turn 2 Foundation and Jeter's Leaders to help kids. I admire that.
    5. He's very respectful, addressing most of his elders as "Mr." such as his manager, Mr. (Joe)Torre. He's always patient with the media, even when they don't deserve it.
    6. He's supportive of his teammates and family.
    7. He's an author. I love books.

    Okay, I suppose I could go on, but I think I've said more than enough...
