    • Diablo: (On working with Steven Spielberg) I had written the script for Juno and apparently Steven Spielberg had read it. I can't just call him Steven, that's weird...Mr. Spielberg had read it and he liked it. He asked me if I would write this television show for him and I said yeah!
    • Diablo: (advice for bloggers to succeed) There are so many talented people that exist in the marketplace. So, don't look for a plan. Put your blog out into the world and hope that your talent will speak for itself.
    • Diablo: (on wearing a surgical glove during her interview with newsblaze.com in 2008) It's important for a writer to have quirks. People like that shit, you know.
    • Diablo: I was pissed at men since birth! No, actually it is demeaning. But you know what's more demeaning, is the time I spent as a secretary prior to stripping. It was worse. I felt more devalued, more demeaned as a white collar worker.
    • Diablo: You hear the term "staying grounded" a lot when you're coming up in the industry and it's the one word I don't really understand because it implies being tethered almost and I don't like that. Why stay grounded? You might as well become a complete eccentric, float off into the sky and burn yourself on the sun and go crazy.
    • Diablo: (recounting her days as a stripper) I mean on one of the jobs I actually had a little time card I would punch in and punch out just like I was working in a kitchen. But then you get up on stage and dance to Metallica.
    • Diablo: Everybody knows that I'm not a snob when it comes to pop culture, obviously. I love reality shows. I will go see crappy movies, happily. I'm not an especially highbrow person, but I have always loved small, quirky, edgy movies. To use a string of obnoxious adjectives.
    • Diablo: (Cody was a stripper prior to becoming a writer.) I can't credit my physique for any of my writing success; in fact, I often suspect they're paying me to keep my clothes on these days.
    • Diablo: I feel much more naked as a writer than I did as a stripper. When I was stripping I felt pretty emotionally neutral because it wasn't a massive event in my life. But when I watch Juno there are bits I can only watch through my fingers because I cringe at how personal it is.
    • Diablo: (on writing the story of Juno) It was incredibly natural. It was like breathing. I saw Juno as an extension of myself. My friends and I were like Juno and her friend. We talked about sex all the time.
    • Diablo: I guess I'm inspired by awkward situations. I love awkward silences, I love forced politeness. To me, there is hilarity to be found in that.
