Biography:

Oscar- and Emmy-nominated actress Diana Scarwid has a long list of outstanding performances in both television and feature films. Diana was born in Savannah Georgia on August 27 1955. Diana has been married to her husband Eric since 1977 and has had two children with him. She received an Academy Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actress in Richard Donner’s film “Inside Moves.” For her impressive performance as Bess Truman opposite Gary Sinese in the HBO movie “Truman,” she received an Emmy nomination.
Scarwid began her feature film career starring with Brooke Shields in the 1978 film “Pretty Baby.” Since then, she has played a wide range of characters from Michele Pfeiffer’s spiritual friend in “What Lies Beneath” and Joan Crawford’s adult daughter, Christina, in “Mommie Dearest,” to Cher’s lesbian hairdresser in “Silkwood” and a confused, runaway nun in “Psycho III.”
Her other feature film roles include “Extremities,” “The Cure,” “Party Monster,” “A Guy Thing,” “The Angel Doll,” “Gold Diggers: The Secret of Bear Mountain,” “The Neon Bible,” “Brenda Starr,” “Heat,” “The Ladies Club,” “Rumble Fish,” “Strange Invaders” and “Honeysuckle Rose.”
Scarwid’s talent also created demand for work in television having portrayed such characters as Rose Kennedy in “JFK-Reckless Youth,” and Buzz Aldrin’s wife in HBO’s “From the Earth to the Moon,” and she re-teamed with Cher and Michelle Pfeiffer in “If These Walls Could Talk.” Other television credits include, “Dirty Pictures,” “The Angel of Pennsylvania Avenue,” “The Ruby Bridges Story” and “Bastard Out of Carolina.”
