When the Arlen Bystander gets a new editor, Peggy gets a job writing a household hints column. Except Peggy doesn't know any household hints, so she gets Minh to supply her with housekeeping tips in exchange for the answers to the New York Times crossword puzzles (as she is competing against Kahn). When Minh can no longer provide Peggy with tips, she has to make up her own, which leads to a potential disaster. Hank makes Bobby get a paper route, to his dismay. Dale, who really wants to be a paper boy, makes a deal with Bobby that he will do all the work.moreless
When Hank forgets to mail his insurance payment, the coverage lapses for 36 hours, causing Hank and Bobby to go into a state of emergency to protect the house from any major disasters. Peggy and Luanne get stuck at a rest stop when Hank won't let them drive uninsured. Dale decides to raise bees, and after hearing that bee stings can cure anything he sells bee stings. Even though he feels he should stay out of it, Hank reluctantly agrees to help Enrique get back together with his wife. Hank, is also trying to repave his driveway with his friends. Dale is trying to set up his new neighborhood security company, Daletech, but no one seems interested. When Cotton becomes the local auxiliary police officer, Dale comes up with a plan to stop him from being the protector of the neighborhood. Hank tries to get Kahn to put up a privacy fence in front of his bathroom. Hank also notices that things in his house keep moving or disappearing. To make Cotton feel important, and stop him from annoying everyone, he puts him on the case.moreless
Hank has signed up for the "Parade of Homes" but just days before it is discovered he has mold in his house. The company in charge of clearing it away keeps making it seem as if the mold is getting worse and worse. Hank can no longer take it, and decides to get revenge.moreless
Fearing that Bobby is succumbing to bad influences, Hank makes him join a local Christian youth group. Bobby discovers that the group consists of cool kids and their tattooed pastor, Pastor K, who worship God through skateboarding and rock n' roll. Hank approves of Bobby's new found interest in religion, but disapproves of the way Bobby starts to dress and talk. When Bobby gets his ear pierced, Hank forbids Bobby to attend the big Christian rock festival, Messiahfest. Bill, Boomhauer, Dale and Kahn decide that death row convicts shouldn't be the only ones to get great meals, so they create the Last Meal Club, dedicated to creating perfect 'last meals' for themselves.moreless

Hank is ecstatic when Bobby becomes the football team's towel manager, as he is at least on a team. Bobby loses interest soon, and finds a new hobby: growing roses. Hank is shocked once he finds out, that is, until he finds a way to make it competitive, and enters Bobby into a rose growing contest. Hank slowly starts taking over and takes the fun out of it for Bobby.moreless
Texas is out of Alamo beer, and Peggy happens to land a job at the company. However, she agrees to not share any company secrets, including the reasoning for the shortage. Hank gets mad and Peggy eventually tells him, and he goes and blabs to the guys. The truth is that the beer has been shipped to Mexico. What Peggy doesn't tell Hank is that the beer is tainted and everyone in Mexico is getting sick. So the guys travel to Mexico to get beer, and of course, all wind up sick. Peggy is appalled that the company isn't doing anything about its Mexican customers and decides to take action into her own hands.moreless
