Don Cherry is vocalist of traditional pop music with a string of hits during the 1950s, the most popular being 1955's "Band of Gold". Simultaneously, he was a successful amateur golfer, playing the Masters nine times, the Walker Cup three times (1953, 1955, and 1961), the America's Cup twice and in eight US Opens. Cherry won the Canadian Amateur Championship in 1953. In 1962 he turned professional. Don has appeared on all the major variety shows of the 1950s and 60s and continues to perform concerts today.
