    • Doug (on having a successful marriage): Picking the right person has an awful lot to do with it! It's important to have the same goals. We have common goals, common interests, a common bond, and we love each other beyond the obvious. As long as you go as deep as the soul, you should be OK. There is a trust and understanding between the two of us.
    • Doug: I like to sail. My son Caden and I are avid sailors. There is always something going on with the family. My wife Cindy and the kids had a great weekend recently. We went along to Disneyland and played hide-and-seek on Treasure Island. It was a kick in the pants, and a lot of fun.
    • Doug (on his family): Father's Day was great, but all the family gatherings brought up my mother's death. Maybe it's me, because I am a wimp. We would get together, but there was someone missing! My dad is great, but he feels the loss. He lives close to us now in Santa Barbara, and the kids walk home from school and visit him every day. He's in an independent living situation and they prepare meals for him, and it's nice. We're now dealing with the house my parents lived in. There's not a corner that isn't full of memories. That's the hardest part.
