    • Ed Kemmer was born in 29 October 1921 in Pennsylvania and died in New York 9 Nov. 2004. A pilot during WWII he was shot down over Germany and spent time in (and escaped from) the same POW camp that the film The Great Escape is based. He appeared as Cmdr. Buzz Corry in the TV series Space Patrol, one of the early science fiction programs for children. It was notable for its lack of violence and introduction of scientific data into the programs. Having performed in a number of films, Mr. Kemmer numerous TV roles and was well known for his roles on The Secret Storm, Somerset, As the World Turns and Another World He was married in 1969 to actress Fran Sharon. They have three children.
