Ed: My brother has always been like, 'Go do it, and worry about it when you're in jail!'. But I've never really been that way. If anything, I'm overanalytic.
Ed: (on people repeatedly speculating he is gay) I made out with a girl in public. Maybe I need to have sex in public with a woman. That one's still on the list. Still haven't ticked that one off. Well, I have, but they haven't seen me. Not George Michael public.
Ed (on his character in the upcoming movie "S.Darko"): He's a small-town guy who never really lived up to his potential.
Ed (on his alter ego, Chuck, from "Gossip Girl"): I think I share the opinion of my character that a lot of the audience shares: It's a love to hate kind of thing. As the season's progressed, I think everyone's had sympathy for him. I think he's an alluring character; he's very interesting. He has these slices of his personality. He can be the devil, but at times he can be very charming. It can be a very dangerous concoction. I think he has a good heart, but his heart is often tempted by corrupt desires.
Ed (on meeting David Beckham at a party): Then I went to the toilet and there was David Beckham. I couldn't say anything, I just ran out. A friend tried to persuade me to say, 'Hello,' but I couldn't do it. It was ridiculous.
Ed (on "Gossip Girl" and his co-stars): I learn so much every day, every week, every episode. And everyone on the show has created this great bond. We're like a family.
Ed (on romance being a similarity between himself, and his "Gossip Girl" character, Chuck): We look the same, but that's about it. I'm all for being in love and whenever I like someone, I end up pretty much completely smitten.
Ed (on bad habit of biting his nails): I wouldn't want a manicure. I'm a man's man!
Ed (on his relationship with his family): I'm close to them all. We're a really tight-knit group. I have two older brothers. I am the baby. We're all very, very close. We're great communicators, so we get along really well.
Ed (on his dream job as a landscape gardener): I think gardens are fantastic, and I'd love to draw and design and stuff like that. I love just planting flowers during the summer. There's something very humble about it, and natural and beautiful.
Ed: When I need to think of like a peaceful scene or something, I think of my back garden in summertime. And whenever I hear the lawnmower next door, I always think it's really peaceful.
Ed: I can't stand watching myself on TV.
Ed: I've never been someone who makes it my objective to go out and pick up chicks. But I've met some fantastic ladies here. You know, those amazing conversations where you find yourself in a café talking until 2 a.m. and never see them again.
Ed: People think Chace [Crawford] is gay, and thought I was gay, that we were humping. It's not true, but hilarious.
Ed (on if he gets a lot of girls): They want Chuck. Chicks dig a bad boy. They're just really into the character.
Ed (on rumors about him being in a romantic relationship with co-star Chace Crawford): We're two lads who are really good friends, but we're as straight as they come.
Ed: I love going out in the summer. The girls wear their nice dresses. Did that sound sleazy? It really did, didn't it? Put it like this: Everyone comes out looking gorgeous in summer. We are a more beautiful species in the summer. No doubt Chuck Bass would say "cheers" to that, baby.
Ed: If I want to go out and drink and throw a glass in the street, I'll do it. As long as the reason is that I want to have fun and not that I want to create some sort of tension around me. Then I'd be a d***. But I'm not.
Ed (on his "Gossip Girl" character): Chuck is an iconic character and the clothes are iconic. I think I rock the look well. My style has always been good. Top notch, baby. I like the glamorous indie rock look, like the Libertines. But you know, without the heroin needle sticking out of my arm.
Ed: There are perks to this job. We [the Gossip Girl cast] were all thrown into this situation with a lot of attention on us, and you get a lot of free clothes and s*** but that's no reason not to stay grounded. What am I really doing, baby? Saving the world? Nah, I'm on television.
Ed (on the "Gossip Girl" ad campaign): I love [the attention]. I can't get enough of it.
Ed: The whole buzz of the city turns me on. I'm a nighttime kind of guy, so I love going out. I always sense potential in the night-especially during the summer. When the sun's out the girls put on nice dresses. It's like London in the summertime: There's all this energy that's been laying under the earth for eight months of the year that's just been bubbling and cooking until finally it comes out with the sun.
Ed: (on girl's fashion) As long as it's done the right way, I think it'll be attractive. It's not about what it is, it's about who's wearing it. From my limited knowledge of women's fashion, everything is pretty good.
Ed: A lot of English people have been recruited this year. I think it's mainly because there's such a wide variety of work over here. There's such a rich amount of work and it's stuff that looks like it's really fun to do and be involved with.
Ed (About the "Gossip Girl" cast): It's fantastic working with such a talented group of people. It's always good to be around nice looking people.
Ed: (on how he proves the people that thinks he's evil wrong) I take everybody I meet out to dinner.
Ed: I'm a lounge guy. I love playing pool. I love finding someplace where it's quiet enough that you can control the jukebox and get on with your life.
Ed: (on McDonald's food) That food is so bad at McDonald's, it's really not that great.
Ed: (on what he looks for in a woman) Good sense of style and confidence.
Ed (His expectations of the show, "Gossip Girl"): I was kind of mixed I guess. I mean, I was always hopeful because we were kind of carrying on the buzz of The OC with the producers. So we always have that kind of hope to hang on to.
Ed: I'm pretty sure Chuck himself would like to go through the whole cast – boys and girls included!
Ed: People find the bad boy appealing – I guess it's a certain fantasy about things that a lot of us don't want to do. They are naughty and they are kind of bad.
Ed: We all know good from bad and we're all sometimes bad when we want to be.
Ed: I'm a one-lady man.
Ed: Music gets inside you, music captures you. Music becomes your heartbeat. It's a drug and makes you feel whatever the song's about.
Ed: If you're talking about gossip and the way people kind of get involved with social whispers and things like that... talking about each other, it's human nature.
