Eileen Brennan

Eileen's father was a doctor.

Eileen is Roman Catholic.

Eileen is a graduate of Georgetown University.

While studying at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, Eileen shared an apartment with Golden Girls star, Rue McClanahan.

Eileen literally and physcially broke her leg playing Miss Hannigan in a stage production of Annie, falling off the stage and into the orchestra pit.

Eileen made her big screen debut in the 1967 film Divorce American Style.

Eileen was a favorite of director Robert Moore and writer Neil Simon. She starred in two of their movies Murder by Death in 1976 and The Cheap Detective in 1978.

Sitcom moguls Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin spotted Eileen in an off-broadway play, who brought her to Hollywood to star in their 1967 film Divorce: American Style.

Shortly after surviving a near fatal automobile accident, her (1985) performance as Mrs. Peacock in Clue was released to theatres.

Eileen is a breast cancer survivor.

Eileen's son Patrick was a Christmas baby, born on Christmas Day!

Eileen has two handsome and sucessful sons. Patrick is a basketball player; and Sam is a singer.

Following in the footsteps of her mother, Eileen became an actress. Her mother was silent film actress Jean Manahan.

Eileen won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV-Series -Comedy/Musical for: Private Benjamin (1982).

Eileen received an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, for Private Benjamin (1981).
