Elijah: (On John Travolta) John is amazing - dressed as a woman, he's even more amazing. When you meet John, he's such a star and you're like 'Oh my God there's John Travolta'. The next day, you're not even over the fact it's John Travolta - now he's a woman. It's just like a double punch all at the same time.
Elijah: (On working with Amanda Bynes in 'Hairspray') Amanda jumped for joy over what a great kisser I was! I wished we had done more takes.
Elijah: (On portraying Sammy Davis Jr.) I want to capture what actually made him what he was. He got really commercialized as he got older, [but] I just want to show everybody, along with the producers, how he came to be the way he was.
Elijah: (On what makes him happy) Making people feel good about themselves in everything I do. If I make a good movie, if I make a good album, if I tell a good joke, and I make someone feel good about themselves. Even if it's just temporary. Knowing that I made them smile, that I made them feel better, it feels really good.
Elijah: (Laughing) I actually make all my decisions based on the fear of my mother. I'm still scared of my mom!
Elijah: I want to be an entertainer. Frank Sinatra did it. Sammy Davis Jr. did it. I want to bring that back.
