Trivia and Quotes

    • Elizabeth: (on which superheroe she would like to play) I'm a big geek, it's so hard to pick just one but Storm is pretty kick ass!

    • Elizabeth: (on her preparation for the role of Simmons in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) lots of Marvel digging and good old character play.

    • Elizabeth: (on how she desribes her character, Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Hyper intelligent bio-chemist with a love for what she does.

    • Elizabeth: (on working with Joss Whedon) It's incredibly exciting, life should be an adventure right?!

    • Elizabeth: (on her experience in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) I still can't really believe it! It's crazy, but it's been amazing the whole way through.

    • Elizabeth: (on her role Simmons direction, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) I'm very interested to see how she interacts and works as a team. I'm interested to see some tricky situations that she has to deal with, [as] socially, she can be quite awkward.

    • Elizabeth: (on the relationship of her role Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. with her partner Fitz) They have a brother-sister, an 'old married couple' relationship. They can bicker and argue, but then they'll forget it two seconds later. They've come up together, spent all their time together, lived in each other's pocket. It's a really fun relationship. No romance.

    • Elizabeth: (on her role Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. having to use technical language) I think once you understand what you're saying, even if it is fiction, then it's so much easier to say and articulate. We have a great team of people that research everything. We research everything and so by the time it gets to actually filming the scene, we kind of feel like we know exactly what we're talking about.

    • Elizabeth: (on her role Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D., being funny) Yeah, she's got her lines. I think the important thing is that none of them try to be funny. I think that's what makes it comedic is that it's honest in what they're saying. She gets her fair share of great lines to say and it's up to other people I guess whether they find it funny or not.

    • Elizabeth: (on being a fan of superheros) I was big into the movie. I was always at the midnight showings of the movies and then later on got into comics. I'm kind of experiencing that world now and realizing how vast it is and how many characters there are and stories to be told.

    • Elizabeth: (on her audition for the role of Simmons in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) They wrote us a scene so it wasn't in the pilot and we had a couple of scenes to do. They were all with each other, and then our final round audition, we auditioned as a pair. I read with Ian [De Caestecker].

    • Elizabeth: (on Joss Wheton ability to write the character of women, in reference to her role, Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Just that she doesn't apologize for anything. She doesn't apologize for being intelligent or strong. She never references that "Oh, by the way, I'm also a woman" and that's great. That's the way it should be. In an ideal world you wouldn't have to fight for it or excuse it or explain it in any way. So she's just a well rounded human being and she happens to be a female.

    • Elizabeth: (on the possibility of a relaionship between Fitz and Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Maybe. I kind of like that there isn't that element right now, that it is more brother-sister relationship because it's refreshing to play that. They get on so well that it's never really been a question for them. They love each other in a family way and that's the way it is right now.

    • Elizabeth: (on her role relationship with her partner Fitz, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) She's got a wonderful relationship with Fitz. They kind of bounce off each other.

    • Elizabeth: (on her role, Simmons, in Marvel Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D.) She's a biochem expert. She's young and hungry and she's a great woman to play because she's intelligent and focused and curious and she doesn't apologize for it.

    • Elizabeth: (on voting in reality TV) The very first season of "Pop Idol" in England. I must have been about 12 at the time, and I remember using up all my phone credit on voting, and getting into trouble.

    • Elizabeth: (on which actor she would like to work with) Anthony Hopkins. I'm just watching him in "Thor" right now and really loving him.

    • Elizabeth: (on keeping track of ex-boyfriends) I never do that. I'm not friends with any of my exes. Although my sisters, my friends, are [still friends with some of my exes], so I know I can get [info] if I really want to, but I generally don't.

    • Elizabeth: (on eating alone) You know, I think it's really important to do that every now and again, so yes.

    • Elizabeth: (on food she doesn't eat) I can't eat beef. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I like it, but I just can't eat it.

    • Elizabeth: (on her growing up in a farm around animals) I grew up on a farm, so I grew up around a lot of animals, but I don't have a pet right now. I keep looking into getting a rescue dog, but I just don't know if I'm responsible enough yet.

    • Elizabeth: (on when she realized she wanted to be an actress) From being about 13 and going to drama club at school. I was in denial about it for a while and finally decided to go for it when I was about 20, I guess.

    • Elizabeth: (on her relationship with her family) Yes, very close. I speak to them … well, if it weren't for FaceTime and Skype, I think I'd be a mess. But yes, I speak to them all the time.

    • Elizabeth: (on getting the role in Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.) It's one of those pinch-yourself moments. Everyone's having a lot of fun.

  • Similarities ...

Is it just me, or does Elizabeth Lail from Once Upon A Time (Anna) act and behave very similarly? I like it a lot, such cool ways of acting and bringing charm and fun to a show.
  • Surprising!

I was not expecting such a solid and convincing acting capacity from such a beautiful actress, It really caught me by surprise and later admiration for such a complete artist! Kudos to Elizabeth Henstridge!
