Trivia and Quotes

  • Trivia

  • Quotes

    • Emily Deschanel: (About her character on Bones) Personally, I was really drawn to a very strong female character; an intelligent woman who is extremely good at her job, but has trouble relating in her personal life to people beyond her area of scientific expertise.

    • Emily Deschanel: (Discussing her food as a child) No sugar cereal. Hot dogs with no nitrates. We weren't allowed to have McDonald's. When the babysitter came, we could have Kraft macaroni and cheese.

    • Emily Deschanel: (About her show Bones) I love doing a show where I can go back and forth between drama and comedy.

    • Emily Deschanel: I'm definitely a people person. I love socializing and being around people and having a good conversation.

    • Emily Deschanel: (On similarities between her and her sister) We both tend not to pay much attention to what's socially acceptable, and we like to do crazy stuff. We both love to dance and will dance whenever, wherever, whether there's music playing or not. My whole family is very sarcastic and constantly making jokes.

    • Emily Deschanel: (On the fourth season of Bones) We're growing deeper of friends this season. [In an upcoming episode] we investigate a certain kind of fetish and it brings up a little sexual tension.... They'll be forced to face what they feel for each other [early in the season].

    • Emily Deschanel: (On her Bones character Dr. Temperance Brennan) Brennan has been abandoned by her father and her brother - the closest men in her life - and she can't let go of that. She's pretty much fearless in the rest of her life, but fear governs her relationships.

    • Emily Deschanel: (On her show Bones) I've always been fascinated by the whole forensics thing, but this show doesn't have a cold feeling to it. It's more about the characters, and I love that.

    • Emily Deschanel: (On her show Bones) It's an incredibly intelligent show and it's character-driven. The script was very ambitious, trying to do so many different things, and I believe it really accomplished all of those things. It crosses genres and it's exciting when you read something different like that.

    • Emily Deschanel: (regarding Doctor Temperance Brennan's conservative appearance) My character is very buttoned up on the show, so I try to keep the make-up to a minimum. My hair has been stick-straight, up in a ponytail, wavy and down. It changes daily.

    • Emily Deschanel: (When asked about her chemistry with Bones co-star David Boreanaz) You know, I think David [Boreanaz] and I immediately had a kind of chemistry as actors together. We work hard, we work together every weekend, we work hard at keeping the chemistry there. I think what's great is the writers write all these different scenes, where we get to explore the characters in different ways, so it keeps it really fresh and interesting. We're not getting stuck in some kind of rut.

    • Emily Deschanel: I'm a vegan, but you can be really unhealthy as a vegan, too. Vegan just means that you don't use animal products, so you don't wear leather, you don't wear wool, and you don't eat animal products. But you can eat French fries and stuff like that all day long.

    • Emily Deschanel: I was in school with Ginnifer [Goodwin]; she's a couple of years younger than I am. She's super sweet. She told me I gave her a pep talk once, even though I can't remember it. And [Michael] Chiklis - I love The Shield - he's so good. When I was in school, he came to speak to us about acting and told this story about how he had As You Like It on his resume; and a casting director asked if it were a soap opera. The casting guy said, "ABC? NBC?" and Chiklis said, "No, Shakespeare." I'll never forget it.

    • Emily Deschanel: Everything I know about makeup, I've learned from my sister.

  • Loose 20# ??

Emily Deschanel is pregnant with her 2nd child.
  • "THAT" Dress, that dress on Late Night w Craig Ferguson

I know you're not like the rest of the "elite" in Hollywood, but "THAT" dress you wore the other night on Craig Ferguson. You are NOT fat, but the dress you wore look like it came from a Womens PLUS SIZE store circa 1980. Can I ask what you were thinking when you chose to wear that dress? Was it your grandmother's? Or do you Thrift Shop like me and Macklemore do, and the price just makes it even a BETTER Find? Been there, done that.moreless
