Emmanuelle: I like animals, I really do, but some animals are just meant to be eaten.
Emmanuelle: I've been decapitated, drowned, cut with razor sharp blades, my mother is so proud, this is way better than becoming a doctor!
Emmanuelle: I love to go hiking. I hike every day for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours in the hills around LA. I go to the gym every day too. Lately, I have done a lot of spinning and weight lifting. I've been working on my upper body, my shoulders mainly. Here in LA I train with my new trainer, Matt. And in Vancouver, I work with my other trainer, Anna. They are great. I try also to do some cardio activities.
Emmanuelle: Nobody's ever tried to buy me for 30 camels, though, and I'm a little sad about that, but there's still time! Maybe I could get the price up to 35 camels and start a bidding war. Then I'd feel really good about myself.
Emmanuelle: I haven't had any really horrible experiences [with guys]. There's always a high school jerk, isn't there? But I didn't date much in high school, because I went to an all-girls private school for ten years.
Emmanuelle: I was an Anglican schoolgirl – my family was Catholic, but the school was Anglican. I wore a navy blue sweater and a plaid, pleated skirt. We'd hike up our skirts really short and wear boxer shorts underneath so we wouldn't get in trouble. It was a big thing getting cute boxer shorts. At Christmas you'd get little Christmas boxer shorts; everything had a theme. So there was an upside to going to an all-girls school. Not a big upside, but at least there was one.
Emmanuelle: You know, horror movies have never been my thing. I love psychological thrillers like The Exorcist, The Shining, even though they scare the living daylights out of me. My brother was a big fan of horror movies like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street, so of course I didn't want to be a big fan of anything he liked, since I was younger than him and we were constantly fighting. But I enjoy them now.
Emmanuelle: When I was modeling in Japan, I could blend in a little because of my hair, but my roommates with blonde hair got harassed. People would touch their hair and grope them in the subway. Actually, a lot of groping happens in the subway in Japan, but that's probably true of subways everywhere.
Emmanuelle: I'm very fortunate to be in a situation now where I am presented with options. It's a great place to be. I really want to expand what I do, and play a wide range of different characters. And keep having fun!
Emmanuelle: As I see it, the future depends on what we teach our children now. What we are teaching them in the schools and also the influence of adults. Again, incorporating exercise in their lives in a fun way can make all the difference. Not presenting them with activities they dread to go to. Going on hiking and cycling expeditions, making the activities fun. A lot of schools are taking gym classes out of the curriculum. That is really unfortunate. Combining lack of exercise with fast food lifestyle, we should not be surprised to see people putting on weight.
Emmanuelle: I always try to do things that keep me moving ahead in my career. And once you make a step up...well, you have to start working on the next one.
Emmanuelle: I am notorious for eating out like three meals a day. My trainer is always anxious about that.
Emmanuelle: [Playing a] Nice [role] is boring though; it's really easy and boring after a while.
Emmanuelle: I love my condo, False Creek Design Group did the work, and it has a very modern, Zen-like feel. My favorite piece is the four-post platform bed. I call it my princess bed.
Emmanuelle: I would love to do something like Chicago or Moulin Rouge, something that required singing and dancing.
