    • Her theatrical credits include Game Over (2003), Ripper II: Letter from Within/Death Door (2004), Almost Heaven (2006), Echoes of an Epic (2006), and Love and Other Dilemmas (2008).

    • The first time she thought about being an actor was when, in Grade 11, she had to pretend to be a car crash victim in an emergency response drill for volunteer firefighters. Her performance was so believable that her guidance counselor approached her and suggested a future in acting.

    • Erin is 5'4" (1.63 m) tall.

  • Quotes

    • Erin: I grew up in Jasper, and I love going back to fish, bike, hike, or just hang out in my mom's garden. I worked as a park guide, so I know Jasper National Park inside out.

    • Erin: (on seeing a psychologist for the sake of acting) The idea is to be as clean and mentally healthy as you can be. You allow yourself to be neutral for acting so you can go to darker places.

    • Erin: (oddest part of stardom) Facebook. People like asking for psychological advice about their regrets and stuff... and I'm just an actor. What are you doing!

    • Erin: (on her favorite weather) Fall in Jasper. It's crisp and the colours pop. You're wearing your favourite pair of jeans and hopefully there's a really good-looking guy holding your hand. Wait, that's not about the weather.

    • Erin: My family was really good about letting me do whatever I wanted to do. They usually didn't have a choice. But as long as I'm happy, they're happy. They didn't have any expectations. If anything, I put the expectations on myself.

    • Erin: (on playing a Jewish character in "Being Erica") I'm not Jewish and it scared me as an artist because I didn't know about being Jewish. I'm Ukrainian, but I learned that being Jewish is not that different. The guilt is the same and talking over each other is the same.

    • Erin: (the show being "Being Erica") What I've learned the most from this show is to just let things go, and not hang onto things or have guilt or regret, or worry about things because they're really pointless emotions to have.

    • Erin: I understand the desire to want to do things differently, but I don't know that my regrets have taken me to a place where I would want to go back. I'm very happy with my life and I think that it's important to make mistakes and fall down and get back up and learn from it.

    • Erin: I like playing flawed people that are a bit awkward and insecure, but still try to play them with a bit of resiliency of overcoming things and trying to make the most of their life.

    • Erin: Acting was a secret dream. Doesn't everyone want to be an actor? In university, I was accepted into the theatre program and my mom says, 'The hell you are.'

    • Erin: (what she doesn't want to get on Valentine's Day) More interview requests about Valentine's Day as it is a brutal reminder of how single, lonely, and celibate I am. And no more dates with guys under 25!

    • Erin: (on her personal regrets) I get asked about them a lot, and it's so weird to answer, because often, the real regrets you have aren't ones you'd ever want to tell someone.

    • Erin: (about winning the role of Erica Strange on "Being Erica") Sometimes I wonder if all the casting directors were sitting around in a room thinking: 'Who's awkward and kind of accident prone and kind of a loser?' and maybe thought of me.

  • Erin Karpluk is really surprising. And her character is exactly the way heart problems appear. So sweet and so fairy like - that it is hard to desire her. it is like: you cant make love to an angel - an angel is love.moreless

Erin Karpluk/Erica Strange is really surprising. And her character is exactly the way heart problems appear. So sweet and so fairy like - that it is hard to desire her. it is like: you make love to an angel - an angel is love. excactly the way her long time realtionship to Ethan is implementing - Usally I do not watch shows like this. But it does more than a regular 'man love woman loves differnt man loses job and get on again' story and the whole making of the show. it is special - and hopefully lasts. Adam Meredithmoreless
