Esther Rolle though gone will never be forgotten. She was a talented actress that appeared in many projects even right up to her death.
Most notably she is remembered as Florida Evans, the faithful spouse and dedicated mother of the Evans family on Good Times.
Even after her television husband was removed from the show - hence an auto accident, Florida remained and carried the family strongly until the show's end, leaving briefly for one season only to return at the request of producers.
Rolle was unyielding in her plight to rid society of negative stereotypes that surrounded the African American community, and never did she loose her ground and cave to what was deemed 'popular' or most suitable for viewers.
She was a strong actress during her era, and is still deemed highly talented and respected years after her demise.
