Ethan Dampf was a joy to watch in American Dreams. Child actors usually leave me cringing, but Dampf is a natural. I believed him. That's always helpful. His interactions with the characters siblings, parents, yeah, those were great, but the character also had polio when he was younger, and he wears a brace. It's quite the conditioning force for a young actor to deal with, but Dampf does it with style. I wish he was doing more these days, but I do understand problems with children acting so I can't push that point too hard. I hope to see more from Dampf when he gets older.
