    Amani and Marcus, Ernie and Cindy, and Jeremy and Sandy depart Panama Viejo in Panama City and fly to Atlanta. Once there, the teams taxi to FlightSafety International and have to use a simulator to land a Learjet from 2,500 feet. A proper landing gives a clue directing them to Margaret Mitchell's home, where a Roadblock forces racers to type their next clue out on an old manual typewriter before being allowed to proceed. Only being given "44-715-74", teams must discover this is directing them to the Turner Field parking lot, where a memorial to Hank Aaron's 1974 715th career home run stands; a large map there requires racers to put on climbing gear and rope a cord through caribiners anchored to countries to map out the Race route. Completion gives out the location of the finish line and one million dollars: Swan House.

    The teams depart from the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine in Taipei, Taiwan, and travel to Yogyakarta, Indonesia with the knowledge that a double-elimination awaits at the Pit Stop. A Roadblock makes racers spelunk into Goa Jomblang to find a mask and dagger to trade for the next clue, which Bill and Cathi have to await to do when confronted with their Speed Bump. The Detour gives everyone a choice to either "Shake Their Money Maker" by dancing and playing music in the streets for donations, or "Be a Ticket Taker" by parking rider's motorbikes. However, following directions when giving their earnings to an orphanage in exchange for the Pit Stop proves tricky for most, leading to a scramble to check in at Kraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat.

    Eleven teams depart from the Hsi Lai Temple in Los Angeles and fly to Taipei, Taiwan, with the team finishing the departure task last being placed in a hazardous situation. A frustrating search for their first route marker clue at the Ximending Commercial District directs them to a memorization Roadblock at the Taipei Confucius Temple. Forcing racers to hear some of his wisdom and properly recite it to a monk, success meant being directed to Dajia Riverside Park, where teams join a dragon boat racing team. Getting to the end of the course earned the location of the Pit Stop: the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine.

    The two tribes are surprised to find out that the Immunity Challenge and the Reward Challenge are combined into one challenge for this episode. After a victory for Chapera, Ethan feels it's his fault Mogo Mogo lost. As a result of this win, Chapera choose Kathy to go with them on the Reward Challenge, she is also immune from the Tribal Council and cannot be voted off. Kathy feels welcomed by Chapera but keeps it a secret. Meanwhile at Mogo Mogo, Shii Ann feels Jerri whines and complains too much which leaves her as a front runner to be voted off. Colby firmly believes Jerri is going as well because he's talked to everyone on the tribe about it. But what Colby doesn't know is that Lex and Jerri have teamed up against him and brought Shii Ann to vote for Colby as well. Wearing yellow, the Saboga Tribe consists of Jenna Lewis (Borneo), Rudy Boesch (Borneo), Jerri Manthey (Australian Outback), Tina Wesson (Australian Outback), Ethan Zohn (Africa) and Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands). Wearing green, the Mogo Mogo Tribe consists of Richard Hatch (Borneo), Colby Donaldson (Australian Outback), Lex van den Berghe (Africa), Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien (Marquesas), Shii Ann Huang (Thailand) and Jenna Morasca (Amazon). Wearing red, the Chapera Tribe consists of Susan Hawk (Borneo), Alicia Calaway (Australian Outback), Amber Brkich (Australian Outback), "Big" Tom Buchanan (Africa), "Boston" Rob Mariano (Marquesas) and Rob Cesternino (Amazon). The All-Stars are given nothing but their water canteens, and are not told the names of the other castaways or how many tribes there were.     With three days left in Africa, Kim, Ethan, Tom and Lex are all battling it out to win the title of Ultimate Survivor. As tensions boil and animosity grows, Lex begins to plot against his longtime ally Tom, and Ethan looks back on his time in the game. When Kim wins the first Immunity Challenge (trivia about departed contestants), Tom Buchanan is voted off of the island. On the penultimate day, the final three Survivors meet local tribes and then compete in an endurance marathon of a final Immunity Challenge, which ends with Kim winning once again. Placing the only vote at Tribal Council, she expels Lex Van Den Berghe from the competition. Kim and Ethan are the final two, and after reflecting on their time in the competition and dismantling camp, they head to the final Tribal Council, where the Jury of Kelly, Brandon, Frank, Kim P, Teresa, Tom and Lex return to pass judgement. The final two make speeches trying to convince the jury to make them the winner, and each member of the Jury asks questions, before placing their final vote. Jeff Probst then reveals the votes to the nine former members of Moto Maji. With a 5-2 majority of the votes, Ethan Zohn, the professional soccer player, walks away with the $1,000,000 and the worthy title of the winner of SURVIVOR: AFRICA!moreless

The challenge comes down to Teresa and Clarence and he suggests that they settle the deadlock by playing “rock, paper, scissors.” Clarence loses and steps down, giving Teresa Immunity. The newly merged tribe decides that the new tribe name will be Moto Maji, the Swahili words for "fire" and "water" . Meanwhile, Lex conspires against Clarence and convinces everyone but Teresa to vote him off. His plan goes through, and Clarence is voted out of the jungle.moreless

    Clarence admits to Jessie that it was Diane's fault that he opened the beans. Jessie states that Clarence is shaking and worried. After a bad night sleeping the Samburu Tribe works on its shelter. Frank begins barking orders which angers Lindsey & Brandon. At the reward challenge Kim J falls, causing Samburu to win. Kim J states that her fall could get her voted out. Jessie continues to get sicker and admits how hard it is to drink water. At Samburu the tribe becomes split between younger people (Brandon, KimP, Lindsey) and the elders (Carl, Frank, Linda, Teresa) with Silas as the key for both sides. Carl tells Frank, Linda & Teresa that he knows Silas will side with them. Lex talks to Ethan about a Final 3 alliance of them & Tom, and Ethan agrees. The tribes are stuck drinking cow blood for Immunity. It comes down to Kelly for Boran and Linda for Samburu, with Linda wining immunity for Samburu. At Tribal Council, Clarence receives 2 votes while Jessie receives 5 votes and is voted out.moreless
