Born in Ystradgynlais, Wales in 1978 Eve is most famous for her recent role as Gwen Cooper in the BBC Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. She had previously appeared as Gwyneth in the Doctor Who episode "The Unquiet Dead" and Russell T Davies decided she would be perfect for the Torchwood spin-off and wrote the role of Gwen Cooper especially for her. She has also appeared in a number of drama series in Wales as well as nationally screened series including EastEnders.

Eve also has appeared in a number of theatrical productions and has acted with the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company. She had a highly successful run at the National Theatre when she appeared alongside Michael Gambon in Henry IV Parts I & II. In 2002 and 2003, Eve was nominated for Best Actress in the BAFTA Cymru Awards for her role as Ceri on the BBC Wales drama Belonging. Russell T Davies describes her as "one of Wales's best-kept secrets" and was voted "Bachelorette of the Year" by Wales on Sunday.

Eve completed filming on the second series of Torchwood in 2007 and will be appearing in two BBC dramas in 2008: an adaptation of Little Dorrit and Merlin.
