I loved this guy's acting ever since the Star Wars prequels and Robots. He's a very talented guy. He did great playing Rodney Copperbottom in Robots and The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and my all-time favorite: Revenge of the Sith. He also did great in other movies.
Although I didn't watch all of his appearances and movies, his roles in Moulin Rouge, Big Fish, and The Island were enough to rise him to my personal pantheon.
First off, what is there to say? How could I describe someone with so magnetic a presence? Something about Ewan McGregor just makes him perfect for the big screen... Is it his little smile, dazzling acting talents, or gorgeous voice (as seen in Moulin Rouge)? Somehow, he is the quintessential honest and fantastic young man every movie needs. From such movies as Big Fish and The Island, his innocence really was convincing, not like most of the "pretty boys" you see a lot today. It's not everyday you see a package deal- acting and singing, and that's what makes Ewan McGregor so special. So Ewan, if you're reading this... Keep up the good work!
Ewan McGregor is one of those rare few that can sing, act, move well, and looks stunning. He is great in many films such as Moulin Rouge, where he made the whole nation cry, and Star Wars (the more recent ones) where men wanted to be like him, and women melted at the site of him.
I think that to be as versatile as McGregor is, then that shows true talent. Many people are great at what they do, but panic when they are out of their comfort zone, and I have to commend Ewan McGregor as he never shows this side.
Ewan McGregor is definitely one of my favorite actors. I think it is amazing how well he takes on so many different roles and characters.
It's nice to see that he appears in a wide variety of movie genres. I think it furthers shows his acting abilities. From a tactless drug addict (Trainspotting), to a hapless, man who can't see to get a break (A Life Less Ordinary) Ewan is able to play those roles -- and others -- with exquisite skill.
Ewan McGregor is a brilliant, handsome and very talented actor. I would like to see him star in more movie roles.
All I can say is, every movie I've seen him in, he does a terrific job. He was the best actor in all three Star Wars prequels. And he was also very good in The Island.
Ewan McGregor is a true actor. You really believe that he got into acting because he loves it for what it is. You'll never see him in any tabloids and you won't hear any gossip about him. In his roles, you sense more realism than many other actor's who are considered more talented than he. Of all of his roles in all of his movies, my favorite has to be "A Life Less Ordinary."
Very good actor. He is not like these kind of people that only appears in some kind of movies, or doing something with people of prestige, but he actually appears in quite a lot, from comedy to action movies to science fiction, I think that he is actually pretty cool, and he is awesome.
Ewan Gordon McGregor was born 31 March 1971 in Crieff, Scotland. At 16, he left Crieff and Morrison Academy to join the Perth Repertory Theatre. His parents encouraged him to leave school and pursue his acting goals rather than be unhappy.
OMG. I love Ewan McGregor. He is so darn sexy. He is in my favourite movie of all time. Star Wars. He was also great in Moulin Rouge, The Island and Robots. I was watching him on Parkenson. He was soooo funny. Not many people my age like him but I Love him. He's my number one man. I recon it would be great to meet him cause he seems so down to earth. He also stared in a movie with my favouite actress Lauren Graham, Nightwatch.
I hope he keeps makeing movies for many more years to come.
Ewan McGregor is Hot and Talented! Great in all his movies just gotta love him! please i want to see hi on TV Weekly. and why doesn't TV.com have any pics of him he is very popular! in starwars Moulan Rouge and The Island he has great chemistry with many actresses too.
a great actor and a great edition to the Star Wars Saga he added a little humor to the character of Obi-Wan Kenobi I'm glad he played the character in all 3 films, In all three films The Phantom Menace, Attack of The Clones, and Revenge of the Sith his performance was great it went up a notch in each film and with revenge of the sith being my favorite one of the prequel ones I got to say it was great, the lightsaber battle between him and hayden was spectular he really knows how to weild a lightsaber all of his battles where great, he did a great job on them. Like I said a talented actor who always plays great characters.
He's talented, handsome and he do all kinds of roles.
I think the last part is what makes him my favourite. He can do anything and sure does it too! From junkie to bisexual rock star to Jedi to clone to psychiatrist to singing writer. And he doesn't seem to be shy to do anything on screen either. He kisses men, run around naked, fight invisible enemies and oh my god, he can sing!
I think it was Mouline Rouge that made me fall in love with this awesome actor. That voice, he could sure have become a singer if he wanted (although I'm so happy he decided to act instead... well, now he does both in Guys and Dolls, but that's not the point).
Another thing is that he seems so funny and loving. I've seen documentaries/behind-the-scenes where people always talk fondly of him. How he brightens up the place and stuff. And of course, he always speaks well of his co-stars. (I remember him saying "She's a tough cookie. I love her to pieces" about Scarlett Johanson for example...very sweet)
Yet another sing that's so lovable about him is that he seems to act for the fun of it, and not for the money. Many actors stick to the big Hollywood movies when they've become well-known. But not Ewan, no. He has been playing Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars (my favourites btw), some of the biggest movies out there, and now he decides to record a small low-budget movie in Britain playing a gay man. Just for the love for acting.
And his Scottish, how charming isn't that?
When "The Island" premiered and it didn't bring in as much money as they expected they blamed it on using "not stars of today, but stars of tomorrow". I can agree that Scarlett is a star of tomorrow, cause she sure is rising. But Ewan? He certainly is a star of today!
Speaking of The Island and Star Wars. I am always amazed by how this 34 year old actor can go from portraying a middle age war-torn Jedi to a naive 20-year old clone. Within the same year... and doing it very good! He almost seems ageless.
Anyway, he is amazing and I'm so looking forward to his future movies!
He was the perfect selection to follow Alec in the Obi-wan part. Very few people could have pulled that part off so well. It is a credit to Ewan McGregor's talent that he brought such a strong and believeable young Obi-wan to the Episodes I through III of the Star Wars saga.
Ewan Mcgregor is one of my favorite actors. I think he is an amazing actor and I love his films! 'Long way round' is fab by the way! I recommend it. It's about Ewan and Carley Boorman going from London to New York eastwards on their motorbikes. Its very funny!
The only movies I have ever seen with Ewan McGregor are the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy movies. I do intend on seeing The Island one day though. I do not know why some people think he is a terrible actor. He is one of the best actors alive if you ask me. Maybe some years from now, his name will be known as much as Alec Guiness' name was.
Ewan McGregor is one of the best actors yet. He's in my all-time favorite movie, "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith." He has the best talent for Obi-Wan Kenobi. He's a great Obi-Wan. In "The Phantom Menance," his hairdue looked really ugly. In "Attack of the Clones," his scenes were pretty tacky, but in "Revenge of the Sith," gosh, he is so AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who has seen Ewan in anything and doesn't see how talented he is, is a regular Helen Keller. I take that back. Even she would know how good he is!
He shows so much passion & geniune joy in all his roles. Trainspotting, ER episode, Moulin Rouge,Young Adam, Down with Love, Star Wars and now The Island. The diversity of roles shows his range as an actor plus he is a hottie! Recently he was performing in the English theatre- acting , singing & dancing. The ultimate triple threat. I guess he's not a big enough star for SOME people, but he is a true gentleman. You won't see him jumping on couches & belittling people who take medication for depression. But then some people will do anything for publicity & to keep their status of"A- List" movie star. Ewan lets his work speak for itself.
I agree, that Obi Wan Kenobi has not been Ewan\'s best role. But in my opinion, that\'s not Ewan\'s fault, but George Lucas\', who just couldn\'t write a logical, interesting and exciting script. Still, I believe that Obi Wan was the best character through the three new movies, the only one I enjoyed watching even.
For everyone who is interested in watching a better performance of Ewan, please watch Trainspotting, it\'s just an amazing movie, completely different to the hollywood films.
Or watch the E.R. episode he was in. I believe it needs a really good actor to make the audience like a mean, cruel murderer in the end!
I admit that i may be very biased when it comes to Ewen McGregor, but i jst don\\\'t like the man. He is very false. In my opinion, you either get into acting either because you can act or because you\\\'re good looking. Ewan McGregor can\\\'t act and isn\\\'t particularly good looking. I specifically dislike Moulin Rouge - worst film ever, even though Baz Luhrman (director) did a superb job on Romeo and Juliet starrng Leo Di Caprio- and Trainspotting, what was the point of that? There was no point to it, it didn\\\'t even make any sense and the actors were rubbish. I have to say that i will continue watching Ewan\\\'s films, becuse there has to be some chance - if not very slim - that he will show some talent soon, or else i think he is in the wrong line of work.
