Patrick Stump: (On being called an "image band") Because we do care about our image. I wasn't put on this earth to be handsome, or cool, or whatever, (but) unfortunately a great amount of the way people interpret music depends on how it's being presented to them. A painting's not going to look as good in a crappy frame. (That') not necessarily what I believe, but it is what a lot of people believe. As an artist, you try to at least (remove) your image from it as much as possible, to make sure that people are hearing the music in the context that you want them to hear it in. If you take it seriously, if you really want your music heard at all, you do care about how it sounds. Ironically, how it looks has something to do with how it sounds.
