Tucker graduated from Washington-Lee HS in Arlington, VA in 1938. This high school is also the alma mater of Warren Beatty, Shirley MacLaine, and Sandra Bullock.

Tucker is buried in the Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills Cemetary in Los Angeles.
