Frank has been involved in acting since he was six months old. His father and mother included him as the theater mascot at a tent theater in Granville, Ohio.
Frank was the director of a three-act stage production of "Come Down to Carrolton County," a folk comedy-drama written by his father, John Collison, with the Pacific Resident Theater Co-Op in Venice, California. He is a founding member of that theater. Besides stage production, he has acted in many television programs and movies. Frank is probably best known as Horace Bing, a sweet, bumbling character in the television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
Frank is married to actress, Laura Gardner. They live in Los Angeles, California, with his three children.
