Freddy Rodriguez is a Puerto Rican actor who was born January 17, 1975, in Chicago, Illinois. His mother was a homemaker, and his father worked as a janitor. Both of his parents were supportive of Rodriguez pursing a career in acting. He attended Lincoln Park High School, in Chicago, and graduated from the school's drama department, where he acted in over 12 plays. Rodriguez's first role was as Pedro Aragon, Jr. in A Walk in the Clouds. He also had a recurring role on the TV series Ugly Betty as Giovanni "Gio" Rossi. His most recognizable roles were as El Wray in Planet Terror, and as Hector Fredrico "Rico" Diaz in HBO's critically acclaimed series, Six Feet Under. For this role, Rodriguez won two Screen Actor Guild Awards, and received nominations for two others, as well as, an Emmy nomination. Shortly after highschool, Rodriguez married his high school sweetheart, Elise Rodriguez, and the couple have two children together.
