Garry Moore began his career in radio in 1935 as a sports commentator. Teaming up with Jimmy Durante in a radio program in the 40's led Garry to his own CBS radio program titled
The Garry Moore Show in 1949 and by 1950 his own CBS television program. His friendly open manner endeared him to his audience and Garry continued writing, acting and hosting various programs from game shows such as
I've Got a Secret and
To Tell the Truth to acting in
Producer's Showcase. Garry also released albums that were called "That Wonderful Year" from a segment he used
… More throughout his television program. He has been a big influence to the game show industry. Garry is also responsible to introducing us to one of the greatest comedienne's of our time Carol Burnett.
