Gary Oldman

He is one of my favorite actors who play villain roles.



His villain roles are Norman Stansfield of The Professional, Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg of The Fifth Element, Count Dracula of Dracula, Drexl Spivey of True Romance, Ivan Korshunov of Air Force One, and Dr. Zachary Smith of Lost in Space. That all this villains played by him have in common is that they die in the end of the movies. For Stansfield, being blown, Zorg, being blown, Dracula, decapitated, Drexl, shot in the crotch, then in the head, Ivan, his neck got broken, and for Dr. Smith, explodes, but only the future version of that character.

Gary Oldman is, simply put, one of the best actors of his generation. The variety and quality of his roles is just astonishing. I first saw him in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and his career took off from there.

Nowadays he's in the blockbuster Harry Potter and Batman movies. Tremendous ability to transform into almost any role.

Gary Oldman, The Chameleon, The man with a thousand faces, is one of my all time favorite actors. Gary has a unique talent which enables him to become absorbed into each and every character that he plays and in that making each of his characters come to life in their own right. Gary's talent enables him, without the aid of many props, to change his appearances significantly from role to role. My favorite all time Gary Oldman movie is actually not one of the movies where he plays a twisted character but rather a nice simple person, Rosencrantz, in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (1990) along side his friend, Tim Roth. I think Rosencrantz and Guildenstern was an excellent movie under-rated by critics and the audience. My second favorite Gary Oldman movie is State of Grace (1990), in which he plays Jackie Flannery, the brother of an Irish American mobster, played by Ed Harris. My third favorite film, is Dead Fish, where he actually does play a twisted, yet very entertaining character, Lynch. And of course, I think he's grand as Sirius Black in the Harry Potter movies, actually can't think of anyone else more suited for the role. Brilliant actor. It's a shame we don't get to see more of him in movies these days.

Gary obviously knew way ahead of time that it's the bad guy who gets to play the interesting parts. He's done some amazing evil dudes, playing them to perfection. Then he comes out and plays Sirius Black - and because he does evil so well, he brings that touch of doubt to Sirius that the character needed. Although my personal favorites are still his bad guys in the Fifth Element, True Romance and Leon. And can you believe him as Gordon in Batman? Now that's a change, but an amazing one - he does Gordon the way Gordon was always meant to be. Seriously, you wouldn't recognize him - he has more facets than a piece of bling.

Gary Oldman added this brilliant character to the movie series Harry Potter. He is one of the best actors on the show. He just plays the character so he has this totall mysterious, "I have been everywhere" character and he does it so well. It will be a shame when he dies in the upcoming movie.

Great actor. He is awesome and he is one of the best actors ever, and I mean it. He really knows how to act, he was excellent as Sirius Black and in Batman Begins, he was something really different. He is awesome, and he is great. I really like his style when doing his acts. He is great!

This guy is absolutely phenomenal. His acting is so versatile and charismatic. The movies he's been involved in have been funny, dramatic, interesting, scary ... you name it ... he can do it. I am really enjoying the fact that recently he's been making some movies that are suitable for children. I think he even said in an interview that he was proud of his work in Harry Potter, because it was one of the movies that his kids could actually watch. I'm looking forward to everything this man does. (except Horror ... I'm not a big fan of the horror movies)!

This soft spoken Englishman brings to life every role he appears in. From evil baddies to dysfunctional genius composers, With Gary's ability to transform himself and conform to any accent, there is no one this man can't play.

My first movie with Gary Oldman was the Harrison Ford movie "Air Force One". If you ask me, he is good at doing a Russian terrorist. I have also seen Batman Begins. He did a nice Commissioner Gordon. He is a very awesome man. If you ask me, he should have been in Star Wars as well. Then again there are already tons of good actors there. Gary Oldman is one of the best actors alive.
