Nominated for three Canadian Comedy Awards, THE GAVIN CRAWFORD SHOW is one of The Comedy Network's most critically acclaimed original productions.

Since the premiere of the series in the spring of 2000, Gavin Crawford has con-tinued to add an impressive array of credits to an already brilliant

More resume. Like many others before him, Gavin was lured to Hollywood where he co-starred in the Warner Bros. sketch comedy HYPE! for the WB in 2001. Upon his return to Canada, he was commissioned to write a feature film for Alliance Atlantis based on his character "Red Ronnie Rocker." Now 30, Gavin recently signed a deal with Disney to create and co-write an animated series called THE BRONTE SISTERS. Addition-ally, he made a guest appearance on MADE IN CANADA as "Chriz" last fall.

Originally from Alberta and a graduate of the University of British Columbia, Gavin burst onto the Toronto comedy scene only five years ago. He quickly became a fixture of alternative comedy stages all over the city and went on to win the 1998 Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award, which acknowledges excellence in emerging comedians. He was later handpicked to join The Second City, where he wrote and performed for two of their main-stage productions, Y2K: The Chip Hits The Fan and Nude Beachwear, 100% Off.

Gavin continued to perform solo and in 1999 received the distinction of appearing in the most shows at Montreal's Just For Laughs comedy festival. Responsible for two, hit one-man shows, Standing/Mis ("mis" under "standing") and You Shouldn't Be Watching This, Gavin has also performed at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado as part of their "Alternative Showcase."

Gavin's talent was recognized early on by The Comedy Network where he appeared in the specials TICKLED PINK and CREAM OF COMEDY. In the spring of 1999 Gavin was selected to tape "Ripe and Red," his own, one-hour special for CTV and The Comedy Network's award-winning comedy showcase COMEDY NOW! Currently a hit on Comedy Central (for whom he has also completed a series pilot), the special was nominated for two Gemini Awards and won a bronze medal at the Houston International Film and Television Festival.

After completing shooting of the second season of THE GAVIN CRAWFORD SHOW last year, Gavin went on to appear in the CTV summer series SONIC TEMPLE. Gavin's additional television credits include CBC's SKETCH.COM (with the sketch troupe Pale By Comparison), as well as THE NEW RED GREEN SHOW. Additionally, Gavin had his first feature film lead as Harper in My Dog Vincent and was seen in the British feature film Dead by Monday.

One of the funniest Canadian commics out there! hide show

Gavin Crawford is one of Canada's best up-and-coming comedians who is currently starring on the widely popular This Hour Has 22 Minutes. He is most famous on the show for his character Mark Jackson, a pimple-and-braced face teenager. Gavin Crawford you are a great comedian and its too bad that you don't get any more exposuure outside of Canada. Keep up the great work and I look forward to Friday nights at 8:30 on CBC!
