Gerald Drayson Adams, born June 25, 1900, was an Oxford educated businessman and literary agent who began writing stories and screenplays in the 1940's. His background of working on small budget action and western films led him to television where he wrote principally for westerns - including Northwest Passage with Buddy Ebsen, Maverick with More href="http://www.tv.com/james-garner/person/13597/summary.html">James Garner and Jack Kelly and Bronco with Ty Hardin. Adams ended his career on a high note, writing for two Elvis Presley vehicles : Harum Scarum (1965) and Kissin' Cousins (1964) - for which he wrote the story and the screenplay, garnering a WGA "Best Written American Musical" Award nomination from the Writer's Guild of America.
