  • Quotes

    • Gerard: Um, lots of people grab my ass. I'm actually starting to get this thing now where people grab my package. That actually happened once in Boston, it usually doesn't happen. We went over to England and it happened at almost every show. I don't really enjoy any kind of invasion of privacy like that I guess. Just the moment you're on stage it doesn't phase you or bother you too much though. Grabbin my package is obviously a total invasion of privacy I'm not into that at all. Grabbing my butt I guess if it were a guy I'd enjoy it. I mean, I guess it all depends on how he grabbed my butt too.

    • Gerard: My favorite band at the moment is the Dresden Dolls, they're from Boston. It's a guy and a girl. She plays piano and he plays the drums and she also sings. You can find them on the web they're incredible.

    • Gerard: Craziest thing that ever happened to me was being attacked by a black bird. It pecked the shit out of my head. We were at this hotel called The Phoenix in San Francisco. We were leaving to go to a show the next morning and the bird just fuckin' attacked my head. And the next day Slipknot were there, they were coming in as we were leaving, and they got attacked by birds too.

    • Gerard: On Mikey's departure The band has decided to give him and his wife a much needed break from the road to start a life and have a proper honeymoon and do all the things a newlywed couple should do. I'm very proud to announce my brother's recent marriage. Watching him grow up into a man and finding love makes me the happiest brother alive. I know this is upsetting news, as it is for us, but we will continues to tour with a temporary replacement until he has situated himself in his new life.

    • Gerard: There was a moment in my life when I really wanted to kill myself. And there was one other moment when I was close to that. But even in my most jaded times, I had some hope.

    • Gerard: I wasn't bullied in high school, I was just ignored.

    • Gerard: Who wouldn't want to catch a guy in a bear suit?

    • Gerard: Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary.

    • Gerard: I want to be a vampire. They're the coolest monsters.

    • Gerard: Suicide is a serious thing. And if you know anyone who is suicidal, you need to get them help. No one should be in pain. Everyone should love themselves. Like I love you all.

    • Gerard: Beach Balls at festivals, are the work of the devil!

    • Gerard: It erases everything I hate about myself. Nothing can hurt me. I feel completely invincible. I feel like everyone else on that stage is invincible and we're capable of anything. There's no stopping us.

    • Gerard: I was this weird loner kid who got drunk by himself all the time. Talking about high school.

    • Gerard: Were not a festival band, playing during the day was something we had to get over, I was like uhh this sun stuff kind of sucks.

    • Gerard: What I like about The Sims is that I don't have a normal life at all, so I play this game where these people have these really boring, mundane lives. It's fun. My Sims family is called the Cholly family. I don't know why I picked that name; it's kind of random. The teenage daughter is my favourite, because I just had her go through this Goth phase. She's really kind of nerdy and she just became a concert violinist, which is pretty huge for the family. And she got into private school. But she started wearing black lipstick and she dyed her hair purple. It's pretty huge.

    • Gerard: The craziest thing that ever happened to me was being attacked by a black bird. It pecked the sh*t out of my head. We were at this hotel called The Phoenix in San Francisco. We were leaving to go to a show the next morning and the bird just f*ckin' attacked my head. And the next day Slipknot were there, they were coming in as we were leaving, and they got attacked by birds too.

    • Gerard: If for one minute you think you're better than a sixteen year old girl in a Green Day t-shirt, you are sorely mistaken. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt, and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics, haircuts, or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about.

    • Gerard: I went to school in drag, in art school and my day was completely different because everybody thought I was a chick. You should see me as a chick. So I went as a girl, as like an experiment and it worked really well and everyone was really nice to me but I couldn't talk obviously. You know train conductors were really cool to me on my commute. HA! I looked hot as a chick!

    • Gerard: Surrounding myself with fans makes me feel like I'm not going through it alone.

    • Gerard: So how was Christmas for you guys? Did you all get lots of nice black t-shirts?

    • Gerard: So many people treat you like you're a kid so you might as well act like one and throw your television out of the hotel window.

    • Gerard: I'd rather be a creature of the night than an old dude.

    • Gerard: If you don't go to high school you will definitely go to jail.

  • My Chemical Romance Saves Lives

Oh, bloody hell yeh. My Chemical Romance is, in my mind at least, THE best band ever. I love MCR because they saved my life. Ever since I discovered them and started listening, my confidence grew and grew. I joined the school orchestra, drama club and now I'm starting my own band with a few friends. We're still thinking of a name. I have picked up new instruments and started to sing in public. Before it was just clarinet, which I still enjoy, but now, alongside that and singing, I play bass, piano and guitar. (: I used to have a prescription drug addiction but since finding MCR, and finding out about how they helped Gee with his addictions, I managed to beat mine too and have now been sober for 5 months. :) WOO! I also thought I'd mention that I don't believe they fit into 'emo'. I don't even see what this whole 'emo' thing is about. I'm 13 and 3/4, but I guess I'm not entirely 'with it'. I think pre danger days, they were a mixture of punk and goth, now I think just punk. But what I love about the band is, if they get fed up with how they are, they just change to how they want to be and this is evident in their songs.

btw, loving the new album guys, it's lovely to see how you're finding yourselves, as before, you were all dark and as a reaction to 9/11, I'm glad that you've found you can write about other subject matter. Loving all the synths in the new songs. I will be a MCR till the end of my life!moreless
