'Ghost of the Robot' was a rock band that originated in Southern California. They gained a large fan base mainly due to the status of their lead singer, James Marsters, who is extremely famous for his role as Spike on the hit television series
Buffy The Vampire Slayer. In April of 2002, the band officially formed. The band consisted of Charlie DeMars (guitar and vocals), Aaron Anderson (drums and vocals), James Marsters (lead vocals and acoustic guitar), Steve Sellers (keyboards and vocals), and Kevin McPherson (bass). The band recorded only one album, titled
Mad Brilliant,
… More which was a showcase of the writing skills that James and Charlie posses. The album was a huge success, as were the European tours for it in 2003 and 2004. Mad Brilliant is out of print and extremely hard to find as of 2006, so it remains highly collectable among fans.
During their 2004 tour in Europe, the band released an EP titled It's Nothing, to hold fans off for their long awaited sophomore album. However, there never was a second album, as James Marsters left to pursue other creative endeavors. James is a very successful solo artist as of 2006, and other band members are pursuing their musical careers in different bands, including 'Gods of the Radio' and 'Power Animal'.
