- In 2001, Gina won an ALMA Award for "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Syndicated Drama Series" for her role as Hel on Cleopatra 2525.

- Producer Rob Tapert wanted Gina to star in his TV show M.A.N.T.I.S. along with Bobby Hosea, but the studio insisted they go with another pair of actors. But Rob kept Gina in mind, and brought her on his later shows Hercules and Xena, and she later starred on his show Cleopatra 2525.
