Ginnifer: Well, I think that certainly I know where I come from, there is still this innocence, absolutely. And I would have believed that if I had won a date with the biggest movie star in the world, I don't think I would have had any inhibitions coming from Memphis, Tennessee as far as that goes.
-
Ginnifer: Frankly, I would rather do the sidekick again if it's more definitive and extreme than play a vague leading lady.
-
Ginnifer: (on polygamy) I'm not even someone who can date someone and have them dating other people casually. I can't share. To me, the monogamous promise is the greatest promise of all, to be able to dedicate yourself to one person and know you will battle the world with them.
-
Ginnifer: I'm sure there is something in every character I play that's very much me or I wouldn't be able to do it.
-
Ginnifer: I do [live in LA]. I wasn't planning on it but when I was filming
Tad, we went to Disneyland one day, which is not where you should make life-changing decisions, but it ended up being a good one. I was like, "Life is so good. I'm moving to LA." So I never went home. My stuff was packed up in New York so I just had it sent out here.
-
Ginnifer: (Cathy Feely is her character in "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton!") I'm certainly vastly more confident than Connie Baker in Mona Lisa. I respect myself so infinitely and her whole thing is how she doesn't, and so in that way we're very different. But I certainly relate to her optimism. I think I'm probably as expressive in real life as Cathy Feely. Not expressive in that I certainly do not recite Harlequin romance novels, but I am a talker and I like attention and all of these things that Cathy Feely does.
-
Ginnifer: I know everybody wants to know who everybody's celebrity crushes are, so I'm safely saying
Paul Newman because I know he's married. I think he's the dreamiest man that's ever lived - no offense to anyone. I think he's perfect but I love
Joanne Woodward so I won't steal him away.
-
Ginnifer: I'm fascinated by a number of things, but it's a weird time because now I'm getting to audition for a lot of dream projects. But I'm up against some of my favorite girls my age and they certainly have a lot on me. We're going to see what happens.
-
Ginnifer: I have really bad ADD when it comes to work. It's something I discovered about myself having come from the theatre; I would throw myself into a role for months and then move on to the next thing. I was very anti-being-on-a-series - the thought of being in one place character-wise really freaked me out.
-
Ginnifer: My parents were so hardcore with me about how there is no hierarchy in humanity. I know that sounds kind of snobby and holier-than-thou, but I don't mean it that way. It's just that to me, all that Hollywood stuff is just something way less interesting than going to work.
-
Ginnifer (about her decision to pursue the actor's career): My parents were scared at first but remained encouraging.
-
Ginnifer: I love exploring lonely, scared, angry underdogs, because I had a very happy, healthy and fulfilling upbringing.
-
Ginnifer: My whole family bent over backward and took out loans to get me a good education and send me to Europe to study and perform.
-
Ginnifer: In comedy, women usually ground the Adam Sandlers and Ben Stillers, while the men get to do all the funny stuff. I'd rather be
Adam Sandler or
Ben Stiller.
-
Ginnifer: The weirdest, hardest thing I've ever done for a part was having fake sex through the bars of a jail cell. That was in my porn days...just kidding! It was for Love Comes to the Executioner.
