  • It's a shame more people don't have anything to say about him. I suppose I will, then.

Hopefully you know that Chapman was one of the Pythons, and since that is the work that I am most familiar with of his, I shall write about that. My favorite characters of his were Police Constable Pan-Am ("Look! I must warn you that anything you may say will be ignored and furthermore, given half a chance I'll put my fist through your teeth. F'tang. F'tang."), the army recruit captain ("Thank you and now for the fish. The fish down the trousers."), the pepperpot in The Exploding Penguin on the Telly sketch ("Anyway, if it came from the zoo, it would have 'property of the zoo' stamped on it!"), and let's not forget Raymond Luxury Yacht ("It's spelt Raymond Luxury Yach-t, but it's pronounced 'Throatwobbler Mangrove'"). All in all, Chapman was a brilliant comedian, actor and writer. It's a tragedy that he no longer graces the earth with his humor and talent.

Almighty Graham Arthur Chapman! The most pythonesque member of Monty Python, and the most legendary.
