He was one of the first 400 students at Flinders Uni,
and the first Student Association Chairman in 1966.
In 1985, John Doyle met Flinders University arts graduate Greig Pickhaver when both actors were working as minor characters on an SBS series. "We had time on our hands in the backblocks of the set where he would grill me about rugby league," John explained. "Having been taught by the De La Salle brothers, I had without doubt the finest education in rugby league possible."
