Grey DeLisle

8/24/1973 , Fort Ord, California, USA

Birth Name

Erin Grey Van Oosbree

Grey DeLisle was born into a family that loved music, though problems soon occurred and her father left the family, which caused her mother to get addicted to drugs. Grey DeLisle was raised by her grandmother, Eva Flores Ruth, who was once a vocalist who worked with several famous individuals. Grey DeLisle eventually got into the current trend of music, with bands such as The Cure, though when her mother became a born again Pentecostal, she was forced to burn her cassettes and she then changed her life from that point on.

She began to get interesting in gospel music and she performed stand-up comedy. Her voice imitations were usually a crowd favorite and upon receiving some advice from her friends, she decided to audition for a voice-acting role. Grey DeLisle has since then aspired to become one of the most sought after voice actresses in recent times and she continues to have a musical career as well, releasing four CDs and still going on tours around the world. She is mostly recognized by the dark, gothic voices that she does on various cartoons [i.e. Samantha Manson, Danny Phantom]. She is best known for voicing female characters with anger issues such as Vicky, Veronica, Yumi, Mandy, Milkshakes, and Kimiko.
