Hal Williams, one of the most beloved "nice guys" of the 70s and 80s TV and film, began his career in a play called "The Man Nobody Saw," a production of Plays for Living, a branch of the Family Services Association of America. The play toured throughout LA and told the story of a black family involved in the race riots of the 60s. A massive man with the broad shoulders of a halfback and a grin that would melt David Duke's heart, Hal's full name is Halroy Candis Williams, and whenever I wanted to "get to him" I would inevitably call him Candis. A talented, amiable man of great ability, Hal, from my foggy memory, got involved in real estate and retired from the business a young man. A great loss to TV. One of my favorite people.
