Hannah: (on doing accents from growing up) My mom used to call me a parrot, because the way I spoke would change in every country we'd go to.
Hannah: (on her role in New Girl) Comedies often pit women against each other, but Cece and Jess's bond feels real and strong; like what I have with my girlfriends.
Hannah: (on having a role in a comedy) It's an incredibly exciting time to be a comedic actress. There is this demand for smart, funny, attractive women.
Hannah: My family never told me like you have to be one thing. What do you want to be when you grow up? They think it's the most ridiculous question. You can be many, many things.
Hannah: I move countries every three or four years. I was born in London, and we lived in Canada. Then we lived in Saudi Arabia until the Gulf War broke out, when we were forced to leave. Then we hop-scotched for a while from Holland back to Canada back to Saudi Arabia. Then there was D-day, so we had to get out again.
Hannah: I had two different degrees: One in International Relations/Political Science and another degree in Radio and Television Production.
Hannah: I lived on the Greek side of Cypress, and I think that's also where my interest in politics really started to come alive. It was the first time that I was told I couldn't go somewhere: My grandfather's house is on the Turkish side, but we were not allowed to go there.
Hannah: (on her charity work) Last non-profit was a donation to the Pink Daisy Project in support of all the brave young women and men who are juggling their lives and families and beating this disease. If you support you could come and hang out with me on set!
Hannah: (on her ethnicity) I just stopped trying to fit in and realized the power in being ethnically ambiguous. I focused on what I loved and my cultural background gave me a unique perspective that opened a lot of doors. That in turn created a platform for me to share the things I am passionate about. Being on this show is a gift on so many levels including have a south Asian face representing!
Hannah: (on the friendship between her character, CeCe, and Zoey Deschannel's role, Jess, in New Girl) Anytime Jess and Cece get together I love it! One of my favourite moments is from season one where they hide from their dates in the bathroom and eat cookies and avoid confrontation.
Hannah: (on her work as a VJ) The best part of being a VJ was talking to people all day that I only knew through their art/ music/ films. It was a fascinating way to learn about new people and different perspectives.
