Harvey Atkin is a Canadian voice actor who has lent his voice to television, movies, and animated films. Born on December 18, 1942 in Toronto, he joined the drama club in his high school. He was primarily drawn to comedic roles. He would go on to play the role of Max in the animated American television series The Adventures of Sam and Max: Freelance Police. He then voiced Bowser Koopa, the arch villan on the cartoon Super Mario Brothers. He worked on the television series Cagney and Lacey and in the films Meatballs and Atlantic City. Other animated credits would include Little Shop, Beetlejuice, Bad Dog, Jacob Two-Two, and Ruby Gloom. Atkin regularly appeared on the smash TV show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. In between significant roles, he lent his voice to hundreds of radio and television commercials. His career includes parts in around seventy-five films. He has won three Clio awards.
