Trivia and Quotes

  • Quotes

    • Haylie: I like writing in my journal when I'm upset. I use it as therapy.

    • Haylie:(to Hilary, her sister) I will always be thankful for the family we have.

    • Haylie:(to her sister, Hilary) I will always look after you.

    • Haylie: Our parents used to call us Juicy and Yummy. Hilary was Juicy, I was Yummy. As we got older, Hilary became Clean Cat and I became Dirty Dog because Hilary is neat and I am messy.

    • Haylie: We had the best of time and it was like having your best friend at work with you everyday... and a safety net. You felt like you could try new things and someday was there to be like, "Maybe that wasn't the best" or "Maybe try it this way." (about 2006 film Material Girls)

    • Haylie: Hilary and I get along so well, it's sick. Every chance we get, we spend time together.

    • Haylie: (on Mtvnews, talking about "Hairspray) Well, William is the designer of the show. He designs all of the costumes and he gave me a really beautiful dress for my finale, but it's also about 4 or 5 feet wide and, um, it has netting inside; 20 layers of netting so, um, we had to kind of do tests to figure out if I could crawl under the chair at the end like I'd do in the show.

    • Haylie: (rehearsing for Hairspray, trying on her finale dress for the first time.) So, am I going to be flashing people?

    • Jodi Moore: (on first day of rehearsal on Hairspray) Are you normally an alto or soprano? Or do you know that?
      Haylie I don't even know.

    • Haylie: (on 7th Heaven's, second, Series Finale) There is a lot of resolution, and a lot of new beginnings, as well. A show that will go down in history.... Everyone's experience was so wonderful and we took away from it everything we wanted to, which I think is special and important.

    • Haylie: You know Maxim was kind of an interesting choice for me to do. They had asked me to do a 12-page spread on the inside of Maxim almost two years ago, right after Napoleon Dynamite came out. I didn't want to sell myself out that way. If I was going to do something like Maxim, I wanted to have the cover. So we turned it down. They asked a couple more times and finally they gave me the cover. I shot the photos months before it actually came out. From the time I shot it, they had asked me to do it two or three months before that. We were kind of like, "No, no, no." Then I finally realized that if I was going to do something like Maxim, I wanted it to be something different and I didn't want it to be me in my underwear and swim suit pouring chocolate over myself, whatever they do usually. I wanted to be different and I wanted to show that that a girl who is classy and can protect herself can be on those magazines and not naked.

    • Haylie: Most of my friends are not actors. When guys break up with them or they have any kind of rejection, it's like this huge ordeal and they want to cry for days about it. For me, I learned rejection at 11 and 12 years old and so did my sister. The first audition you go on, you don't get. That's when you learn that. You learn how to deal with rejection. So that's been one of the most positive lessons that I've learned.

    • Haylie: I'm very emotional. I cry over the tiniest things. I was watching a rerun of Dr. Phil with my boyfriend when we were making dinner and he had this show on about all these people who were obsessed with their weight. There was this girl on who was making herself bulimic. She was obsessed with Mary Kate Olson and I was bawling watching it. It was really weird for me. I don't know why it made me cry, but it was so sad.

    • Haylie: I feel that a lot of girls probably feel this way: there can be a role that you can act the hell out of and because they might have some previously set opinion of who you are or what you are, it makes it hard for them to see you as anything else.

    • Haylie: Naturally, everyone thinks siblings would be jealous over each other and fighting, but my dad always said, "If you ever fight over a part or cry over a part, you guys have to come home!".

    • Question: On a scale of one to ten, what would you give yourself on romance?.
Haylie: Umm..6? I'm not like that. The romantic stuff makes me laugh.

    • Haylie: (On her crush on Josh Hartnett) I will marry him someday!

    • Haylie: Jealousy is not an issue. It wouldn't be acceptable in our family.

Haylie Duff is probably most known as the sister of superstar Hilary Duff, however Haylie to has had her fair share of acting gigs in hollywood. Haylie Duff is an alright actress but not the best singer, I mean she is okay but not the best. Overall I would give Haylie a B.
