    • Heather Graham: (on her relationship breakdown with her parents after filming "Boogie Nights") Boogie Nights was quite explicit and my parents were horrified. They didn't really want to hear my point of view, and thought that, because I took the part, then I was like that in real life. It would be nice if I did have a good relationship with my family, and yes, part of me longs to have a mom and dad who love and accept me for who I am. But if they never do, it's OK. I've learned to take care of myself.
    • Heather Graham: As an actress, it's fun to do rageful things. Most of the parts I read are for girlfriends who are nagging, needy and pathetic. They're all like "Honey, stay with me! And don't endanger yourself! This movie is about all the exciting things that you're doing! I love you! Let's have a family together!" I just don't understand them. I have no idea where they're coming from.
    • Heather Graham: I thought I needed to be successful to be somebody. At the same time, growing up in a strict household, it was like, "Don't ever do a movie with sex in it. Don't do anything risky because we don't want to be embarrassed by you." But then I started to do things to make me happy. You figure out who you are and accept it.
