Heidi Klum (pronounced as "Kloom") is an international supermodel, reality TV show host, fashion designer, and film and TV actress/producer. She was born in Bergisch Gladbach, a small city in Germany on June 1, 1973. Heidi is the daughter of Günther, a cosmetics company executive and Erna, a hairdresser.
Through the persuasion of her friend Karin, Heidi began her modeling career in Germany in 1991 by winning a contest called "Model 92". Before conquering the fashion world in the US, Heidi first modeled in the fashion capitals of Paris and Milan. When she finally moved overseas, she did work in Miami and New York City.
Aside from modeling for several famous brands and fashion designers, Heidi is also known for gracing the spreads of popular men's and fashion magazines, regularly appearing in magazine and online voting lists.
