Helen attended Westholme School, a private school in Blackburn.

Helen's mum Julia is a nursery nurse and her dad is an electrician.

Along with Richard Fleeshman, supports Brook's Wise Up! campaign for confidential sexual health advice.

In the 2006 British Soap Awards Helen was nominated for the Best Dramatic Performance for a Young Actor for her role as Rosie Webster in Coronation Street, however she lost to Ellis Hollins.

At the age of five, Helen began taking drama lessons at Carol Godbury's Theatre Workshop in Bury.

Helen has one brother, named Tom and two sisters, named Jane and Jessica.

Helen does not wear a wig in Coronation Street - she had to dye her brunette hair to black to play gothy Rosie Webster.
