Helio was chosen as one of People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive for 2007.

On April 1, 2007 Helio won the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg for the second consecutive year.

His name is actually "Castro-Neves" but American media often listed him as "Helio Neves" so he got rid of the hyphen making his last name all one word.

He switched from Champcar to the IRL in 2002.

He is part owner of NasrCastroneves Racing Team, competing in the Brazilian Stock Car V8 Championship.

His trademark fence climb after a win has been adopted by Tony Stewart in the NASCAR series.
