A great actor who is somewhat unappreciated. hide show

When I think of the series Poirot, I immediately think of David Suchet. But on further consideration I realize that Hugh Fraser is just as good in his performance as Hastings. The character is slow and not as intelligent as Poirot and yet you love him just as much. The performance is also very close to the descriptions in the books, and the recent episodes really have missed his presence, though I still enjoy the series. Another of one of my favorite of Hugh's role is as the Duke of Wellington in Sharpe. This cold but heroic interpretation of the famous leader is excellent and far different from his role in Poirot.

I hope Hugh eventually returns to Poirot, but for now I will look out for this excellent actor in other projects.
