Hunter Parrish

Hunter: I know that if I ever smoked pot I would probably become, like, a total pothead because I think I would like that. I have, like, a chill personality, so that's why I'm never going to start, because I don't like to be dependent on anything. I don't even drink coffee.

Hunter: My voice fits with Duncan Sheik's of song, and that's why I want them to bring back Joseph [and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat]. If anyone has that idea, I'm your man!

Hunter: I've always been very comfortable with my body, so my parents grew up with me... you know, I wasn't exactly clothed all the time.

Hunter: (on his first Hollywood moment) My first premiere, and it was the first movie I was in. It was for Sleepover, and I was like barely in the movie, but, you know, walking down the red carpet and people calling your name and knowing who you are … I hate premieres now, but at that moment I was like, 'This is amazing!'?

Hunter: (made to choose between Rihanna and Carrie Underwood) Gosh, I like them both! [Thinks it over.] I'm obsessed with 'Umbrella,' I guess, so maybe Carrie Underwood would be better. It would definitely be Carrie Underwood. I'd like to marry her.

Hunter: (on his being Christian and playing a character on "Weeds") [laughs] I'll be honest.... I don't know this as a fact, but I will tell you everyone knows that I'm a Christian, because I've never smoked pot, so they had to teach me all that stuff. So I guarantee you that this slight tinge of Christianity had a little bit to do with the ironic factor in my involvement.

Hunter: Everyone keeps saying to me, "Why do you always get the bad-ass [role]?" My Weeds character is such a little prick.

Hunter: (on October 2007 rumors that he was dating Mary-Kate Olsen) It's not true. She's a very good actress and fun to work with. I'm sure we'll laugh about it this week.

Hunter: Part of the ways I do my stuff is I like to journal. I like to write. Makes you come alive and makes you get out everything you need. You're not offending anybody 'cause it's for you. It's for nobody else. It's just for you. For me, I've never felt so free as when I'm writing.

Hunter: I am really close to my mom. My move out here to LA from Dallas was difficult on my family.

Hunter: I have always hoped that my passion for the theatre would eventually lead me to Broadway. Spring Awakening is a truly one-of-a-kind show with its timeless story, commanding music and innovative imagery. I am elated to have the opportunity to become a part of it.
