Born Robert Singleton in Atlanta, GA, IronE was raised in the inner city projects of that city. While growing up he relied on his grandmother and uncle to take care of him. His father had abandoned the family and his mother was a drug addict that succumbed to AIDS/HIV while IronE was in high school.
Given a chance to play football at the University of Georgia, IronE discovered his joy for theater and acting. His breakout role in movies came in 2010 in the Sandra Bullock led film; The Blind Side. In that same year, IronE made himself known to television audiences playing the character of T-Dog on AMC's The Walking Dead.
